If you call the Pipitone Group (PG) office on September 16th and no one answers right away, don’t fear. All of the PG team members will still be hard at work—but not necessarily at our desks. We’ll be decked out in matching t-shirts, shoveling dirt, planting perennials, installing signs and sweating as we beautify areas of Observatory Hill, the Northside neighborhood we call home, during our fifth annual volunteer day.
We’ll be beautifying two green spaces, the islands at the base of East and Baytree Streets where they meet Evergreen Road, as well as installing storefront billboards we designed that tell the history of the neighborhood.
Observatory Hill, Inc. was awarded a $1,000 Love Your Block Grant to purchase materials for the various projects. And thanks to some of our neighbors who provided in-kind or monetary donations, PG team members will keep fed, fueled and hydrated in making these project happen. They include: Center Point Convenience Store; Colette’s Styling Salon; First National Bank; Glenn Miller, landscape architect; Mandy’s Pizza; Northside Leadership Conference; Observatory Hill Chiropractic Center; Observatory Hill, Inc.; Schorr’s Bakery; and Trios Market.
Thanks to everyone for your support!
p.s. Check back here on Tuesday for some in-progress and before and after shots of our great work.
