Help Birds Take Flight This Holiday Season

Supporting Conservation, One Bird at a Time

The holiday season is a time to reflect on the beauty of giving back and the joy of making a difference. This year, Pipitone is proud to support one of our newest partners—and one of Pittsburgh’s treasures—the National Aviary.

Located in Pipitone’s own Northside neighborhood and recognized as America’s only independent nonprofit bird zoo, the National Aviary is home to 500+ birds and animals representing more than 150 species. From African Penguins at Penguin Point, to soaring Andean Condors in Condor Court, the Aviary’s immersive habitats spark curiosity, joy and wonder for visitors of all ages.

But its impact goes far beyond its walls. As a global leader in conservation, avian medicine and education, the National Aviary protects endangered species, restores critical habitats and shares world-class expertise with partners globally. Their work is nationally recognized, including formal national designation in 1993 through a bill signed by President Bill Clinton.

This year, to help support the Aviary’s vital mission, Pipitone has made a monetary donation toward programs that save birds, protect ecosystems and inspire the next generation of conservationists. We have also designed and created limited-edition Aviary gift boxes, filled with “bird-friendly” items. You can help support the Aviary’s mission by purchasing them at the Aviary gift shop.

We invite you to experience the magic yourself through this short animation with fun facts, created to showcase the beauty of flight and the extraordinary work happening every day at the National Aviary. To bring our vision to life, the Pipitone team reimagined bird photographs as antique Audubon-style illustrations and used cutting-edge AI visual tools to animate them with movement and vibrancy. This holiday celebration is where art, nature and technology come together to inspire wonder and joy.

We encourage you to join us in lifting this important work even higher. Every donation, big or small, helps protect birds and ensures future generations can experience these remarkable creatures.

From all of us at Pipitone, Happy Holidays, and thank you for helping us make this holiday season take flight!
